In the parts department, Socrates taught me about how the dealership interacts with Chrysler on repairs. For example, if a part that was thought to be defective was sent to Chrysler and wasn't defective, your dealership would be charged the price of the part. We also learned how the internet can vastly increase revenue by selling parts on Amazon.
Working in service was also a great experience. Being able to work in the quick service department allowed us to learn how to do oil changes, change/rotate tires, and how to properly repair an air leak in a tire. These skills will certainly come in handy if I ever get a flat on the side of the highway(something that I'm sure many people don't know how to handle)!
Last, but certainly not least, getting to work in sales was arguably the most eye-opening for me. Interacting with customers, watching deliveries unfold, and seeing deals close taught me valuable people skills that will definitely come in handy later in life. In addition, working with Jeff and Joe also taught me how the pricing & sales of cars brought revenue & profit into the dealership. I also found observing your TD Bank meeting to be very interesting and a definitely one of the top experiences I had at the dealership.
Again, I just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to observe the inner-workings of your dealership over the past 6 weeks. You and your employees at White Plains Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram were all very kind to me, and I'll be forever thankful as an intern as well as a car enthusiast."
